Rich, striking fruit components greet you immediately in the glass of the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc. Ripe peaches and tropical fruit dance together with hints of salinity and grassy undertones. On the palate the wine has bright acidity highlights tropical fruit notes with lingering minerality. A lush mid palate loaded with guava leads to a long and balanced finish.
The 2018 harvest kicked off with a nice even spring. July brought in hotter temperatures, as well as some smoke from surrounding fires. But by the second week of August, the weather cooled off considerably to usher in one of the most idea ripening seasons in recent history. September brought beautiful, mild weather, offering the fruit several extra weeks to hang during long, sun-filled fall days. Harvest was wrapped up on October 15th producing wines that are balanced with great fruit expression. A harvest to remember, indeed!

“Incorporating 7% Semillon, the vivid gold-hued 2018 Sauvignon Blanc offers up a tight, slightly reductive style that slowly gives up lots of citrus, crushed rocks, tart apple aromas and flavors. The fruit comes out more on the palate, and it’s medium-bodied, has a silky texture, beautiful balance, and great finish. It’s a straight-up impressive, classy Sauvignon Blanc that’s going to benefit from a year of bottle age and I suspect evolve for 7-8 years or more.”
